MediaWikiMediaWiki is a free software wiki package originally written for Wikipedia. It is now used by several other projects of the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation and by many others, including itself.

The definition of a wiki, taken from the most famous wiki of them all, The Wikipedia, states:

A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content, using a simplified markup language.[1][2] Wikis are often used to create collaborative websites and to power community websites. The collaborative encyclopaedia, Wikipedia, is one of the best-known wikis.[2] Wikis are used in business to provide intranets and Knowledge Management systems.

Wikis are now used in many different scenrios. They make excellent platforms for internal company use as a means of sharing and organising collective knowledge. Many businesses also use wikis for applications such as on-line manuals and learning resources. There are many open source wiki products available offering various attributes and features. If you need a wiki we can help you identify the right one for your business.
