The eBay owned, on-line payment processing company PayPal, has released information about how it builds out it's massive data centres; it uses Linux, and in a big way too.

In a very upbeat press release on Sourcewire, "the rapid growth of a UK startup and its expansion into the Middle East has been attributed, in part, to their innovative use of Open Source software. In 2006 ESR Technology lowered its annual IT costs by 78% after migrating from Netware to Debian Linux.

Dutch Government Mandates Open Source |

The Dutch government has set a soft deadline of April 2008 for its agencies to start using open-source software — freely distributed programs that anyone can modify — the Netherlands Economic Affairs Ministry said Thursday.
